Sholo Truth – Sali (2016) 7″
This time we would like to send a massive shout out to our Spanish homie Sholo Truth of Latragam who has been in the game for quite a while and just recently he’s back with his brand new 7″ vinyl record on Enlace Funk called “Sali“. A title song features the legendary Erick Sermon of EPMD/Def Squad and overall this 7-inch contains 3 songs with two of them being the title track + its groove instrumental and song called “Roger” (dedicated to Roger Troutman). All the production, raps (except for Eric Sermon’s rap in “Sali), talkbox, vocoder & scratches were done by Sholo Truth himself.
You can cop this dope 7″ @ Enlace Funk Website & it will be shipped to you from Spain.
Keith Johnson – A Dream Come True (25.03.2016)
Diggy Down Recordz keeps bringing us the heat non-stop & this time they’re back with the album “A dream Come True” by the US-based Soul/RnB/Gospel singer Keith Johnson – to be released shortly on 25.03.2016. Most of the album was produced by Wadz (Fonkfatherz Records, FR) with the remaining songs having production by DJ Ness D (The Touch Funk, FR), Sergio “DOC” Barone (D-Funk Music Productions, DE) and Keith Johnson himself. This album ain’t nothing but heat so ya’ll’d better make sure u don’t miss this funk/soul banger.
The pre-orders have just been started and you may order this CD @ DDR WEBSTORE along with their other releases including that freshly-released PLAY FUNK Maxi Vinyl 45T (limited to 200 copies) which consists of The Touch Funk‘s instrumentals.
The Funky Drive Band – French Kiss’ Craziness (22.02.2016)
For all the funkateers this is the not the release to miss: today is the day for many of us – The Funky Drive Band releases French Kiss’ Craziness EP in vinyl format on Boogie Foxx Records & Tapes. For those who don’t know, this is not the first record by this funk group: 2011 was the year that they released their full length album Dance or Die (which is out of print & a very rare now) and in 2014 they came up with the Maxi 12″ Single – Funky Drive’z Me Crazy.
Unlike Dance or Die LP, which was entirely produced by Kâshif Kroch’, the current project is an introduction of the other composers/producers of the band, Jenny Lord (synth player of the band who composed “Lost Generation” song for the compilation Weird Jam Project), Alan Push (keyboard player of the band) and Omar (bass player of the band).
Vinyl limited to 300 copies is available for a purchase @ R.S.J. Recordz Webstore
Mega Kulis – Overseas Hustla (2015)
Ok, we know that its 2016 already, but good music is always out somewhere waiting to be discovered. The release by artist Mega Kulis from Poland deserved the separate post from us. The beats are banging, keys slappin’, the CD got its own drive and listening surprisingly easy for g-funk gourmets like us. Sound of this album is really ‘West Coast’, everything you put in these two words, production brought by already known for us masters from Poland – Funk Monster, RTN, Wildwest Prod plus known for most of y’all Steve Vicious (VMF). Not to mention big guests from Cali would be big mistake, the release is full of them: Spice 1, Bossolo, Big2DaBoy, Lil Half Dead, Loesta, Shade Sheist, so you know what the deal is. Real discovery for us were hooks by girl with the perfectly suitable nickname Tha Hooksta, her singing is making the whole weather on the album. So while you clicking on youtube links below, don’t forget that there was quality 6-tray digipack press made, no bullshit, order it by contacting Mega Kulis on his Facebook page.
