Sin2 ‎– Where I’m From (2020)

Many of the funk fanatics on the street dance scene already know the name Sin2. As a talkboxer and producer, he introduced himself in 2007 with “The Gypsy And His Talkbox.” While he has been spotted in collaboration with a bevy of European funksters, a follow up to Sin2’s debut was nowhere to be found, until now.

Entitled “Where I’m From,” the album’s straightforward name actually belies a deeper musical meditation. Sin2 does, in fact, show us exactly where he’s from as far as his production and overall range. The album runs the gamut from Impala-ready g-funk on tunes such as “Mellow Hustle,” “Quantum Realm Remix (feat. Bybo),” “On The Autobahn,” and “It’s LBC,” a joint venture with Long Beach legends Foesum, to dance floor friendly boogie funk in the form of “Innocent.” The record becomes even more adventurous when Funkmaster Ozone joins in to deliver a vocoder-inflected slice of hard electro on “You Need To Dance.” There’s more than enough material on “Where I’m From” to fuel a dance session (or ten), yet Sin2 doesn’t hesitate to slow things down on the tracks “Wide Open (feat. Imaa)” & “Baby Girl (feat. Bybo),” two electric g-funk slow jams better suited for the bedroom than the backyard boogie.

Sin2‘s approach to talkboxing stands out from many of his peers as he always manages to give equal space to it and all other instruments in play. The result is that his talkbox texture doesn’t overshadow the rest of the music, gliding over his synths and rhythms rather than overshining them as some talkboxers tend to do, making for a consistent listen, and making you wish that he had followed up his debut album many years ago already.

This album was released by The Sleepers RecordZ as Limited Edition of 300 copies on black vinyl & still available for purchase @ Sleepers RecordZ Official BANDCAMP as well as many digital platforms.

Now, he’s stepping his game up by releasing the full-length album consisting of 16 songs having such guests as Big2DaBoy, Domino, Foesum, Nancy Fletcher, Quictamac, Young Koop, Shade Sheist, Bigg Rocc, Curren$y, Nephew Michael, Clinton Wayne, Nicole Funk, Esco, Von Jackson, Too Cool, 92, Beat Squad, Isabelle, Igor Krucjata.

VS Productions ‎– Tha Last Play (2018)

VS Productions, the well-known production duo from France (which consists of Venom & Sovan), dropped Tha Last Play – the very much anticipated final compilation album of their trilogy that was started by The Playtime & continued by The Playground. Though, the production on Tha Last Play was predominantly handled by Sovan, however, some tracks were co-produced by Venom, J.Locc, Tony Beatmaker, Dish Mothafunk, Laidback, RTNThe featured guests names on this dope album are quite impressive: Daz Dillinger, OG Daddy V, Dazzie Dee, Tha Chill (of CMW), Butch Cassidy, AMG, Foesum, Quictamac, Eastwood, Hobo, Stalin, Dogg Master, Winfree, Lil Woofy Woof, Loesta, Tha Hookstah, Bossolo, Delux, GFunk, Chag G & Jovan Benson.

There are 2 versions of the CD: 1st and 10th tracks on the “Sneaker” version (issued in Digipak) are Remixes of the original tracks which are found only on the “Car” version (issued in Jewel Case), however, each of them have 17 tracks without any intro’s and outro’s. So, basically, both versions are the must haves for a collection, also, they would get rare pretty soon due to the very limit pressings (200 copies of each).

We highly recommend to grab both versions & you can do that by hollering at Sovan on his Facebook page or @ buy them @ his BANDCAMP.

El Don & Mista L – Visions From The G-Funk Book (2018)

We, G-Funk.WS, are proud to present our new album which we worked upon from start to finish: El Don & Mista L – “Visions From The G-Funk Book”.

El Don (Italy) & Mista L (Russia) started working together back in 2014 when J.Locc found Mista L’s talent in songwriting and suggested to make a track with 100% English lyrics on it. That’s how “Funkin Til The Cops Come Knoccin” was born. Realizing that g-funk in Italian language doesn’t sell well, the idea to do a completely English project grew up. G-Funk.WS team started from scratch by building this album together and it took 4 long years. Mista L wrote all lyrics for El Don as well as for himself, managing its way in all good g-funk traditions. Of course, without a help from the best producers in the movement it wouldn’t be possible. Productions from Wadz (France), XL Middleton (USA), Sovan (France), Docc Free (Italy), RTN (Poland), Erenes (Poland) and others made this album what it is now. Not to mention all the guests who put in their incredible work too: OG Domino, OG Daddy V, Foesum, Scrooge, XL Middleton, Collarossi, Slip Capone (R.I.P), 530DC, KOG, Lil’J, 92, Too Deep, Erenes, DJ War, Kalai & Linda.

We released this album digitally & in CD format (real press, not bullshit CD-R’s) on our OFFICIAL BANDCAMP. This is Limited release of 300 copies worldwide, so first come, first served!
