Star Child LP (Reissue) & Delicious 7″ by Dogg Master

After dropping O.C. Girl 7″ just recently and which was sold out real fast, Dogg Master is not letting us to relax for a minute and is back with 2 records almost at a time: Star Child vinyl Reissue & next 7″ single “Delicious” off his upcoming album both released on his More Bounce Records.

“Star Child” is the reissue of his very successful album that he released in 2013. While the first press had a discobag cover, this new press is better quality sleeve with a 3mm border. And if you order on Dogg Master Bandcamp, then he additionally offer the CD album (Original 2103 press) and the digital download as cool bonuses. And on this reissue B4 track “Supa Dupa Guy” was replaced with “Love The Way You Dance” so all the above mentioned differences and dope bonuses justify the purchase very well even if you have the original 2013 vinyl press in your collection! Release date is June 15th but the vinyls are in stock and ready to ship against orders…

“Delicious” is 2nd single off Dogg Master’s upcoming album to be released some time during this autumn so you have another track (along with its instrumental) to taste and get ready yourself more for his next album. This time it’s a blue vinyl also placed in a transparent PVC sleeve with a sticker on it. Once again (as it was the case with O.C.Girl 7″), it’s Limited edition of 300 copies so these won’t last long but would be sold out pretty fast, so hurry up and go to Dogg Master Official Bandcamp for your copy. Pre-orders have been opened by now and these 7″ records are expected in stock some time end June or early July.

Moniquea ‎– Blackwavefunk (June 2nd, 2017)

Moniquea has already established herself as one of the foremost female artists in the modern funk scene with her 2014 MoFunk Records debut album “Yes No Maybe”. With her follow-up, she continues exploring and expanding upon the boogie/modern soul sound of her debut, and at the same time, ventures bravely into a new sound inspired by the new wave and synth-pop sounds of the 80’s. Thus, the album title: Blackwavefunk. Executively produced by XL Middleton & Eddy Funkster, the album was mainly produced by the one and only XL Middleton with a little exception of one track “Knew It” which was produced by Turquoise Summers while other two tracks “Why Can’t You See” and “Check Your Sources” were co-produced Eddy Funkster and Moniquea respectively. By all means, this is a great modern funk album which is gonna turn classic after some time.

Today is the official release date so you may not hesitate & cop both Vinyl and/or CD @ MoFunk Bandcamp though we recommend to get both vinyl & CD versions as CD has the bonus track “Already Done That” which was B-Side track on “Checkin’ Out/Already Done That” Lathe Cut 7″.

Sligh Talkbox ‎– Sligh Boulevard (2016)

Last year we missed one dope g-funk album Sligh Boulevardreleased by Sligh Talkbox, a versatile hip-hop musician from Grand Rapids (Michigan). He started out as a guitarist and fell in love with Hip Hop during the Golden Era in the 1990’s. Sligh began writing & producing Hip Hop in the mid 90’s with a funk infused sound with catchy hooks and feel good lyrics. He expanded his skills as a musician by adding bass guitar an keyboard to his repertoire.
In 1997 Sligh released his first Hip Hop album as part of a Hip Hop duo “Love West.” He followed this album up with a solo effort “Sligh’s Special Reserve” in 2000. Both albums had some underground buzz, but Sligh would have to go back to the lab. He released the Gospel rap album “Pure Gold” with the group “Brothers On The Hill” in 2009. But again something was missing for Sligh, so he went back to his funk roots as he was a long time fan of the group Zapp & Roger. The talkbox was an instrument that had always intrigued Sligh and the Sligh Talkbox Era began in 2010. Talkbox proved to be a pivotal piece of the puzzle for Sligh. He worked hard on his talkbox skills and has recorded talkbox features for artists all over the world and in 2016 he released his full-length solo album “Sligh Boulevard” both in digital and CD format.

On this album any g-funk fan find something for themselves: the album is full of smooth talkbox hooks by Sligh and has many dope features. It was produced by Sligh and Nixon, at the same time Sligh plays talkbox, keyboard, guitar and bass on the album. This is a kinda perfect album for summertime and is a tribute to the G Funk Era of Hip Hop, the era that made Sligh fall in love with Hip Hop.

You can cop a digital copy on Sligh Bandcamp Page but you need to get at him on his Facebook Page or email him @ funkymangr@gmail.com for a CD hardcopy (it was released in 6-panel digipak) which is limited to 200 copies.

Rekta – Hustle Life (June 09, 2017)

Rekta, a French rapper from Rennes city, has been on top of the game since quite a while, and now he’s back with his new album called “Hustle Life“. It looks like a solid g-funk / gangsta rap album packed with dope guests both from USA and France: Kokane, Big Tray Deee, RBX, Westcoast Stone, Bad Azz, Lil’ Eazy-E, Baby Eazy-E, Smokey Lane, Mofak, Reena, Nancy Fletcher and others.

It’s worth pointing out that Rekta never disappointed on his previous albums La Niche (released as duo with his homie Twareg) and Marche Ou Creve and now he proves again that he’s one of the most active gangsta rappers nowadays keeping it real with the game, droppin’ dem bombs on a constant basis.

All in all, we highly recommend you to check out and cop this album which gets released in CD format as well as digitally thru ADDICTIVE MUSIC

T-Groove – Move Your Body (June 01, 2017)

One of our most favorite labels, Diggy Down Recordz, has been really active recently relentlessly dropping some real nice vinyl and CD releases. This time they’re back at it with a highly anticipated debut full-length album by the Japanese disco icon, T-Groove aka Yuki Takahashi. It’s like his album title “Move Your Body” is trying to hint that it’s all about disco music, and it’s really the case! The album is 70 minutes long and densely packed up with modern disco joints that would be perfect for any disco party or dance floor. T-Groove produced tracks feature guests like B.Thompson, Winfree, Diane Marsh, Leon Beal, Enois Scroggins, The Precious Lo’s, Jovan, Sammy and others.

Pre-orders have already started @ DIGGY DOWN RECORDZ WEBSITE where you can also listen to the albums trailer (after hitting the play button beside the respective album pic). The orders will be shipped from France worldwide.
