After the success of Rene Rose “Number One” / “Dance Floor” Maxi 12″  Single, the truly-international label Diggy Down Recordz is back with her full-length album “Funky Attitude” released in CD format.  For those who didn’t know, Rene Rose is an American singer from San Francisco, CA. The album name definitely speaks of itself: it’s full of catchy funky tunes which should keep you dancing or at least head-nodding throughout the whole album. It consists of 14 songs produced by Djay Ness D & Goz (of The Touch Funk), Wadz, Hic Box, Sovan, Sergio “DOC” Barone, Dan Kay, Touchpac & Yuki “T-Groove” Takanashi (whose album will be next on this magnificent label!).

Diamond Ortiz – Loveline (2016)

Today is the big day for all the funkateers out there – MOFUNK RECORDS releases the highly-anticiapated album by Diamond Ortiz, called “Loveline” in both in Vinyl and CD formats.

Representing the Bay Area branch of MoFunk’s ever-growing tree, Diamond Ortiz finally brings this first full-length with the label. Fueled by the success of the Zooted 7″ single and subsequent Boomerang 12″ EP,  Diamond continues to expand on his heavy-bottomed, pulsating brand of funk, underscored by deep synth bass lines and skull-shattering hand claps, contrasted perfectly with beautiful melody and joyful sentiments, as exemplified by song titles such as “She Chose Me,” “We Clicked,” and “Natural Fun.”

Weaving interchangeably between the human and electronic incarnations of his voice, it’s easy to draw comparisons between his talkbox technique and those of his more iconic predecessors. Yet, while he makes reference with reverence, he does it in his own way, having distilled the blueprints of many into the sound of one – and it’s ready to be heard in full on “Loveline”.

Moni – Original Scarla (2016)

After 5 years break, Moni of DBH is back at it with his brand new solo album “Original Scarla” (Original Thug). It’s a real tight album out of France with dope features by Aelpeacha, Papillon, Reena, E.S.G. (on an interlude), Arom of DBH, Mac Sucrey, Sauza, Pyro, Le Foulala aka Le Fou La Merde, Tombocarnage, Espe (talkbox) and others. This album was mostly produced by Moni himself as well as by Espe, G-Dogg, Oduza, Sovan, Shortone & Tony Beatmaker, and features guitar played on many tracks. It was released in CD format just recently and available from Moni himself and his Bandcamp.
