Magoo ‎– Let’s Have A Boogie (2019)

It’s been 9 long years since Magoo, the French singer, songwriter, keyboard player & producer, released his previous album. Now, he’s finally back with the new solo album titled “Let’s Have A Boogie” released by the famous French label Funkysize.

As per Magoo, with whom we managed to speak during this busy period of his career, he worked on this album during last 3 years, slowly little by little as he’s been also working for other artists as well. There are 4 other contributor to this album: Tony Massera (drum machines programmer on many songs), Fabrice Baffet (Guitars), Christophe Tellez (Saxophones), and Heryo (his French Kiss collaborator) who sings “Let’s Have A Boogie” together with Magoo (while the latter wrote the lyrics and the melody of this song). All the rest album was done by Magoo himself (Lead vocals, backgrounds vocals, all keyboards, programmings & mix).

Needless to say that this great piece of work is a real treat for all funk/boogie/disco connoisseurs to really know what’s up in the genre.

Laidback Black – Miasto Słońca I Księżyca (2019)

Who’s been following our blog and G-Funk.WS label, there’s no need to introduce Laidback Black, the Polish rapper from Poznan. This time around he’s come with his new album “Miasto Słońca I Księżyca“ which translates as “City Of Sun And Moon“. This one is once again  produced by RTN, which serves only as a merit of this beautifully composed album. It’s the pure laidback G-Funk to which one can chill to at any season of the year. Besides of Nicole Funk (talkbox) & his “Funkchillaz” crew who appeared on this album, he got his former group “Beat Squad” homies Rafi & Barney appear on this album too.

Overall, it’s the dope album, highly recommended by G-Funk.WS. It was released as Limited Edition CD of 150 copies, most of which have been already sold out. If you wanna cop this CD, contact Laidback Black on his Facebook and he will ship it to you anywhere in the world.

N.N.P. ‎– Everydaylife$tyle (1997/2018)

If you were following our site & label, you might have noticed that last year we released the previously unreleased 2nd album of NNP ‎– Resurrection (which were recorded back in 1999-2000 but was shelved afterwards). Now, we are proud to announce the re-release of N.N.P.‎’s classic debut album – Everydaylife$tyle which originally was out on BMG Ariola in 1997. It’s not just some typical reissue but some special Collectors Edition which was made from the Original Master Disc which was sent by the group to the label back then, where there we found 2 special Mixes of “Summer” song & added by “Togetha” Original Remix (found by DJ K.I.P. in his archives but never released before).

VS Productions ‎– Tha Last Play (2018)

VS Productions, the well-known production duo from France (which consists of Venom & Sovan), dropped Tha Last Play – the very much anticipated final compilation album of their trilogy that was started by The Playtime & continued by The Playground. Though, the production on Tha Last Play was predominantly handled by Sovan, however, some tracks were co-produced by Venom, J.Locc, Tony Beatmaker, Dish Mothafunk, Laidback, RTN. The featured guests names on this dope album are quite impressive: Daz Dillinger, OG Daddy V, Dazzie Dee, Tha Chill (of CMW), Butch Cassidy, AMG, Foesum, Quictamac, Eastwood, Hobo, Stalin, Dogg Master, Winfree, Lil Woofy Woof, Loesta, Tha Hookstah, Bossolo, Delux, GFunk, Chag G & Jovan Benson.

There are 2 versions of the CD: 1st and 10th tracks on the “Sneaker” version (issued in Digipak) are Remixes of the original tracks which are found only on the “Car” version (issued in Jewel Case), however, each of them have 17 tracks without any intro’s and outro’s. So, basically, both versions are the must haves for a collection, also, they would get rare pretty soon due to the very limit pressings (200 copies of each).

One of our most favorite labels, Diggy Down Recordz this time are back at it with a highly anticipated sophomore full-length album by the Japanese disco icon, T-Groove aka Yuki Takahashi. Like his debut album “Move Your Body” on the same label, it’s all about modern disco/funk music, all produced by T-Groove & his friends and partners from all around the world.
